Nationwide Contest Also Places Iconic Chain First in New Jersey
WHITEHOUSE STATION, NJ — QuickChek has been named one of the “Best Gas Station Brands” in America by the 2020 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards.
An expert panel selected QuickChek as a contender and the public then voted the Whitehouse Station, NJ-based fresh convenience market chain as the 10th best gas station brand in the national contest.
QuickChek was the only company whose fuel is sold in the Garden State to finish in the Top 10.

Nominees were chosen by a panel of relevant experts which include a combination of editors from USA TODAY; editors from 10Best.com; local travel experts; and sources for both these media and other Gannett properties. The general public then voted among 20 leading brands.
The contest measured a gas station experience by much more than just the fuel. Cleanliness of the bathrooms, freshness of the coffee, snack options availability, and whether hot meals are offered, were among the criteria voters used in making their selections as to how these brands cater to the needs of drivers.
Best known for its award-winning fresh brewed coffee and made-to-order sub sandwiches, QuickChek introduced its first store with fuel in West Amwell, NJ in 2000.
Today, all newly-built QuickChek stores offer gas at competitive prices in further providing fresh convenience and one-stop shopping in delivering what consumers need and getting them on their way fast. The fresh convenience chain currently has 89 stores with gas throughout New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island.
QuickChek’s “Fresh to Go” services enable consumers to choose their convenience, from placing Mobile Orders through the QuickChek Rewards app; Curbside Pickup; utilizing self-checkout counters in company stores; or delivery through DoorDash. Each option provides a safe shopping environment and meets consumers’ lifestyle needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
QuickChek’s national honors include being named National Convenience Store Chain of the Year, Food Service Innovator of the Year, its fresh brewed coffee was voted “Best in America” in a national consumer survey, and the family-owned company was selected as one of America’s Best Employers by Forbes.
