QUICKCHEK HELPS HUNGRY FAMILIES IN NEED PARTNERS IN 2017 CHECK-OUT HUNGER CAMPAIGN FOR HOLIDAY SEASON

WHITEHOUSE STATION, NJ — QuickChek Corporation, a leader in food services committed to the communities it serves, will once again be participating in the Check-Out Hunger campaign to help feed hungry families during the upcoming holiday season.

The Whitehouse Station, NJ-based fresh convenience market chain is a campaign partner of the annual fundraiser that takes place every autumn at most major supermarkets and convenience stores throughout the region, benefiting more than 30 Feeding America food banks and affiliates from New England to Florida.

Shoppers at each of QuickChek’s 152 stores throughout New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island can help feed hungry families in their communities by donating $1, $3 or $5 coupons at store check-out counters during a six-week period that begins Saturday, November 4 and runs through December 16, 2017, providing food, help and hope to those in need.

When you donate to the Feeding America national organization, $1 helps provide 11 meals through the Feeding America network, which works with manufacturers and retailers across the country to secure safe, healthy food that would otherwise go to waste. Those donations are provided to food banks across the country, which help distribute them to people in need.

The Check-Out Hunger campaign has been warmly embraced by QuickChek team members and customers alike.

The company raised $148,500 last year and $433,500 during the three years it has been a campaign partner. All of the money raised benefits those in need within the counties in which QuickChek operates store locations.

“Being in the food business, our partnership with the community food banks where we have stores has been a natural fit and allows us to further embrace and support our local communities and help our neighbors in their time of need,” said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling, whose family-owned company has been named one of the most generous in the state by New Jersey Monthly magazine.

QuickChek, a leader in the fresh convenience industry with an award-winning fresh food and coffee program, was named the 2016 National Convenience Store Chain of the Year in part due to its continued dedication to giving back and supporting its communities.

In addition to participating in Check-Out Hunger, QuickChek team members from senior executives to support center and store personnel aid thousands of area families and individuals in need throughout the year by volunteering to box and sort food donations at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Fulfill (formerly the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties), the Hudson Valley Food Bank and Long Island Cares.
